May Month Student Performance: A Month of Achievements and Growth

May has been an exciting month at Seed Succeed Academy, filled with remarkable performances and milestones achieved by our dedicated students. From earning prestigious titles to significant rating jumps, our students have shown exceptional progress. Here’s a detailed look at the highlights of May:

Achievements and Titles

  • Sairam R M: We are thrilled to announce that Sairam R M has earned the Arena Candidate Master (ACM) Title from the World Chess Federation. This prestigious title is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and strategic prowess on the chessboard.

  • Ananya C: Another fantastic achievement comes from Ananya C, who has also secured the ACM Title. Her relentless effort and consistent performance have paid off with this well-deserved recognition.

Rating Increases

  • Harikeshav: Starting the month with a FIDE rating of 1550, Harikeshav has made impressive strides, increasing his rating to over 1630. This 80+ point increase showcases his significant improvement and growing expertise in the game.

  • Siddarth S J: Siddarth has seen a remarkable rise, boosting his rating by 70 points from the 1400s to 1553. His dedication to mastering new strategies and refining his skills is clearly evident in this achievement.

  • Vedanth: With a 50-point increase, Vedanth’s rating has climbed to 1587. His consistent effort and focus on improving his game have been key to this success.

  • Jan: Jan has also experienced a notable increase of 50 points this month. This steady progress highlights his commitment to enhancing his chess abilities.

  • Ajin P R: Raising 41 Points, now 1530+

  • Santhosh Srinivasan: Raised 71 Points in USCF Rating placing 3rd and won a prize.  

New Ratings and Milestones

  • Lasya: We are proud to announce that Lasya has opened her rating with an impressive 1596. This is a fantastic start to her rated chess career and sets a strong foundation for future achievements.

  • Aarna and Jagath: Both Aarna and Jagath are likely to open their ratings soon, having defeated rated players in recent tournaments. This achievement highlights their growing skills and competitive edge.

Tournament Success

  • Aarna: Aarna won the best unrated award at the Karnataka State Championship, receiving a cash prize of ₹10,000. Her outstanding performance in the tournament is a significant milestone in her chess journey.

  • 6.5-Year-Old Jax: Jax received a big trophy as a category prize in a FIDE-rated tournament, showcasing his early talent and potential in chess.

  • Siddarth S J: Siddarth received a cash prize of ₹4,000 in his rating category, further validating his recent rating increase and strong performance.

  • Jan and Jax: The siblings Jan and Jax secured the 3rd prize in a rapid state tournament in their category, demonstrating their shared commitment and passion for chess.

  • Vedanth: Vedanth won a cash prize of ₹4,000 as the runner-up in the U15 category of a rated tournament, adding another accolade to his impressive performance this month. Additionally, Vedanth played an amazing tactical game against a 1600 player with many sacrifices, earning the recognition for the best game of the month.

  • Rithvik S: Rithvik received a reward in the U17 category prize, even though he is in the U11 category. His performance in the higher age group is commendable and highlights his exceptional skills.

  • Jagath: Jagath won a cycle at the end of April, celebrating his excellent performance in the tournament.

  • Jagath’s Sister Keerthana: Keerthana won a trophy, showcasing her talent and competitive spirit.

  • Emmanuel: Emmanuel secured a trophy for 9th place in the U15 category, highlighting his promising potential.

  • H K Siddarth: H K Siddarth received a trophy in the state championship, further solidifying his standing as a strong competitor.

  • Sarah Rajesh: 2nd Prize in U12 Tirupur Tournament, won 4 rated players in U13, Open State Championships.

Learning from Defeats

This month, some of our students have gained valuable mental training and clarity through their performances in tournaments. Although they faced challenging situations and experienced defeats, they have learned important lessons that will contribute to their growth as players:

  • Ananya P, Ananya C, Sairam R M, Nikhil, Jan, H K Gowtham and Siddarth, Nilan, Lakshithha and others have particularly benefited from this experience, gaining better focus, stress management skills, and strategic clarity for future games.

Training Updates

  • Beginner Sarvesh B: Finished 3600 puzzles in 2 weeks, showing great dedication and perseverance.
  • Challenger Exams: Ongoing for students to test their skills:
    • Harikeshav: Lost against his 2111-rated challenger.
    • Siddarth: Lost against his 2111-rated challenger.
    • Ananya Rajan and Lakshithha: Both unrated, won against their 1500-rated challenger.
    • Shreyaas: Unrated, drew against a 1500-rated challenger.
    • Sasvath: Unrated, lost against his 1500-rated challenger.
    • Ananya C: Lost against Shreyaas.
    • Jaysna: Passed the Stage 1 Opening Principles Written exam with flying colors.

Promising Students

  • M Saaswath and Shravan: Young 6-year-old students showing a lot of potential and maturity for their age.
  • Aarna: Exceptional in her note-taking, very likely to win nationals and possibly the world with her current trajectory.
  • Ayaan: With his dad’s support, Ayaan is doing exceptionally well in class. He is a child on the spectrum but highly efficient in his activities, solving complex puzzles with simple cues.
  • Anika and Anirudth: Playful but highly talented kids. Anika gave 10+ suggestions for the website in under 2 minutes, showing high logical and smart thinking. Anirudth, at 6, is equally quick to catch on to things.
  • Santhosh and Sarvesh: Yet to debut into FIDE rating but have the potential to get a good starting rating.
  • Srijith Debnath: From West Bengal, a promising child willing to learn chess despite language barriers. Kudos to his dad for the assistance.
  • Nikhil: Currently in a little slump but will get back after learning and applying the principles.
  • Krishna C: Working on a new puzzle platform for Seed Succeed Academy. An older student with amazing degrees.
  • Rithvik S: Now taking notes to improve his understanding and performance.
  • Beginners Class:
    • Aarav: Growing strong in less than a month due to daily practice and solving puzzles, following instructions to the dot.
    • Mithul, Sarvesh J, Cavin, Rithesh, Ameya, Maurya: Promising students showing great potential. We have many talented students and wish them all the best in their chess journeys.

Ongoing Competitions

  • Cusat Tournament in Kerala: Several of our students are currently competing in the CUSAT tournament in Kerala. We are eagerly awaiting the results and are confident that our students will make us proud with their performances.
